Cornered

Very often one of the most difficult decisions in a kitchen design is what to do with the corner. The usual solution is to put in a lazy susan cabinet or a false lazy susan cabinet (shelf only). But, for some those solutions are not what they are looking for or are impractical for their situation. What to do?
Blum, the German hardware maker, has come up with an interesting alternative for the corner problem. The Space Corner with Syncromotion is another in their line of creative cabinetry. While not cheap, the unique possibilities are intriguing. Who would have thought of putting drawers in a corner?

A New Website, A New Blog

I'm a big fan of
Apple Computers. I own them, I use them & they do whatever I need a computer to do. So, when Apple unveiled
iLife '06 at the recent
MacWorld Expo in San Francisco (along with many other useful tools) I was linked to a live feed from the Moscone Center where Steve Jobs was delivering the goods to the Apple faithful. Along the way he demonstrated
iWeb, a new component of iLife 6 and I thought this is the way to go for web publishing without pain.
Elite Kitchens has had a 'professionally' done website hosted by the company that made it. It was pretty enough, but it never changed and it really only amounted to a business card. Once you'd seen it, that was basically it. No information other than contacts. When that contract expired, it was time to move on. Let's get out the
Dreamweaver manuals and take a crack at that. Bad move.
Dreamweaver like many other high end programs can offer a life-time of exploration and play. Trouble is I don't have a life-time to get something useful ready and up. After a number of frustrating attempts to put together something useful that was easy enough to want to take the trouble to maintain, I gave up and started searching for a more suitable vehicle. Enter
Rapidweaver. Hey, it had 'weaver' in it, so it should be a least a little flashy. Sort of like the illegitimate offspring of Dreamweaver perhaps.
Rapidweaver which i am typing in right now, seems to be that vehicle that those of us that have other lives than playing with 'code' can use if you have a bit of intuition about your computer (it is only available for Mac) and need to put something useful 'out there' without large expenditures of time or money.
Right now Rapidweaver is a tried and tested solution for us. The above reference to iWeb may turn out to be the next step in the evolution of this website and every other website I do from now on. Check through on the links if you like and have a look for yourself.
